So as some of you may recall from previous posts and comment (as if people read those), I work at a dealership that carries GM (Buick, Cadillac, & GMC), Subaru, and Hyundai. I work at the parts counter. Any how, the other two guys and I have notice that we have been P&Aing a lot of front timing cover reseal jobs on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Its become almost as frequent as P&As for Subaru head gaskets. Though we have P&Aed a lot of these jobs, we haven’t done too many of them. Most likely since people figure, whats a leaking timing cover? Well any way, I did a little math to see when about these guys were going out. For the last eight ROs from Sept 2014 to today, the mean average of the mileage is 107,543.75 miles.
Data Set:
68270, 88584, 68081, 189382, 91900, 127618, 96917, 129598
Statistics:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
So a warning to any of you who own a:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I would start making sure your front timing cover is nice and leak free starting at 68k miles (our earliest job). Fun fact: our latest job, the timing chain broke and smashed up the front cover.

Webster’s says this about the mode: The value that occurs most frequently in a data set. For example, in the set 125, 140, 172, 164, 140, 110, the mode is 140. Your dataset has eight unique numbers and, therefor, no mode.

Yeah, I put my data points into an internet calculator so I could get a nice display like it is. Didn’t even realize the whole Mode thing. I guess that why it showed all points rather the the most frequent.

I guess I was trolling a little. I teach 7th Grade math, and Mean, Median and Mode are three Greatest hits for the high school exit exam.
